You don’t need impeccable manners to win Hounds of Plan B. Which is excellent news for this month’s two winners.
One plays with your emotions. The other prefers something that squeaks. Both have plenty to say, and neither appears to have discovered the volume control. Meet Finn and Caesar, our latest local celebrities.
Finn
Favourite toy: Your emotions
Worst habit: Shouting at children
Tennis balls? Too predictable. Rope toys? No psychological depth. Finn prefers the delicate art of making you fall completely in love with him, then acting like you’re an inconvenience.
His favourite plaything is your emotions, and we suspect he’s never lost a game.
He’s also listed “shouting at children” as his worst habit. We appreciate the honesty, Finn, although winning this award does not put you in charge of the bar.
A prize for Finn. Our thoughts with his household.
Caesar
Favourite toy: Any chew toy that squeaks
Worst habit: Occasional annoying barks
Caesar has a simple rule: if it squeaks, it’s worth chewing. A perfectly reasonable hobby, provided you’re not the person trying to watch television beside him.
His worst habit is described as “occasional annoying barks”. We admire the careful use of “occasional”. That sounds like a statement approved by Caesar’s legal team.
Between the squeaky toys and the personal announcements, Caesar brings his own soundtrack. Thankfully, he also brings enough charm to get away with it.
The treats are on us
Finn and Caesar have each scored a choice of a can of dog broth or a special beef patty, while their humans get their pick of any can. A little something for the dogs, and a little something for the people who listen to them.
Got a contender at home?
Bring your hound into Plan B, snap a photo of them at the bar and scan the QR code to upload it to the Hounds of Plan B gallery.
They’ll join our growing pack of local legends and go into the running for prizes and dog-park bragging rights. Once their photo is live, share it around. Every rising star needs a publicity team.
Winners are drawn on the last Friday of every month. Get your hound in the gallery before the next draw.
Good looks welcome. Good behaviour clearly negotiable.
